Marussia driver Timo Glock has been forced out of this afternoon's European Grand Prix in Valencia after failing to recover from a stomach bug.
The German, 28, had to sit out qualifying yesterday after feeling unwell following the morning's final practice session.
The FIA had given Glock permission to race despite his absence from qualifying, but a statement from Marussia confirmed his withdrawal.
It read: "Timo received medical guidance yesterday afternoon and his symptoms suggest that he is suffering from an intestinal infection. He has been advised that it would be unwise for him to race given the severity of the complaint and that he should focus instead on recuperating.
"Timo spent the evening resting at his hotel in Valencia and is in good spirits. He will return home later today."
Fellow German Sebastian Vettel is on pole for Red Bull and you can follow live text commentary of the race here on Sports Mole from 12.30pm.
