Williams deputy principal Claire Williams has revealed that her team would back a return for former Marussia outfit to Formula 1.
The constructor went into administration at the end of 2014, but is now running as Manor F1 and applied to rejoin the grid ahead of next month's Australian Grand Prix.
Manor's attempts were blocked, with Force India boss Bob Fernley citing a lack of "substance", but Williams has insisted that her team would support any move for them to return to the sport.
She told Sky Sports News: We've been very clear on our position around Marussia [sic] and their entry.
"We want a full competitive line-up on the grid ... and we will do anything to support Marussia coming back in.
"We made it very clear in the strategy group that we would vote for them to be able to use the 2014 chassis this season. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened but Williams want a competitive line-up on the grid and we want to help the smaller teams."
Marussia scored two points last season, courtesy of Jules Bianchi's ninth-placed finish in Monaco.
