McLaren have insisted that they are designing their car for next season around the assumption that both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will be representing the team.
There has been much speculation surrounding the future of Hamilton, with the strongest rumour being that he will join Mercedes ahead of the next campaign.
The 2008 world champion insists that he is yet to decide his future, but McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe says that the team are assuming that the 27-year-old will stay.
"That's how we're working in terms of the design for next year," said Lowe.
"It is our assumption that they are the drivers who we will be fielding next year.
"We have two fantastic drivers in Lewis and Jenson and we are very keen to keep them."
However, Lowe went on to add that a change of driver was "ordinarily, not a huge issue" in terms of designing the car.
