Lewis Hamilton "very happy with pole position"

Lewis Hamilton is pleased with pole position, but insists that there is more work to do in the race tomorrow.

McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he is "very happy" to have claimed pole for tomorrow's Singapore Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who set the fastest time early in Q3, has also made it clear that he still has a lot to do to turn pole position into maximum points.

"I'm very happy with pole position," Hamilton said. "It's been a good weekend so far, but there are no points for today, and it's going to be a long, tough race, so I still need to be cautious.

"I hope we've done the work we need to do to put us in a strong position for tomorrow - the key will just be to stay out of trouble and look after the tyres."

Hamilton has 37 points to make up to usurp Fernando Alonso at the top of the drivers' standings.
