Lewis Hamilton says that he is upbeat about his chances of winning the world championship in 2013.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has expressed his confidence of a successful Formula 1 campaign in the upcoming season.

The 28-year-old finished fourth in the drivers' championship last season in a McLaren.

"I live to win," Hamilton told RTL on Monday. "That's what I work towards every year, so that's what we're going to be working towards this year.

"It's going to be tough to beat the guys that are already at the front, like the Red Bulls, the Ferraris and the McLarens, but I don't think it's impossible."

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel won the world championship in 2012 for the third year in a row.
