Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of Formula 1, acknowledges that it "make sense" for the sport to make a comeback in France.

Despite its significant contribution to motor racing history, including coining the ubiquitous term 'grand prix' and housing the headquarters of the FIA, France was dropped from the racing calendar after 2022 due to financial difficulties faced by the organizers at the Paul Ricard circuit.

Efforts are now underway to plan a new French Grand Prix, with potential locations being the familiar Paul Ricard circuit or perhaps a street race in Nice.

In an interview conducted by L'Equipe's Frederic Ferret prior to the Austrian Grand Prix, Domenicali stated he "absolutely does not want to close the doors to any proposals."

However, Ferret believes that the odds are currently "very slim," though adjacent reports noted that a potential arrangement could involve alternating the event annually between Nice and nearby Monaco.

Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice and a former French GP promoter at Paul Ricard, mentioned recently, "If, at some point, the president of the Republic and Prince Albert of Monaco say: 'There can be an agreement', then why not?"

In his discussion with Ferret, Domenicali admitted, "F1 and France make sense together."
