Red Bull team boss Christian Horner says that he was confident that Mark Webber would turn down Ferrari and stay with his current employers.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has expressed his delight over keeping Mark Webber for another season.

The Australian had been linked with a move to Ferrari and revealed after signing a new deal with his current employers that he had discussed a potential move with the famous red car.

"We were always reasonably confident that Mark would stay. He's grown up in the team, he's enjoyed all his F1 success with the team - all of his nine victories have come in Red Bull Racing cars," Horner told Sky Sports News.

"He's been performing very well this year, the pairing of Sebastian and Mark is very strong, but of course the lure of Ferrari is significant. We were very happy to be able to confirm he is staying."

Webber finished first at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone last Sunday.
