Organisers have confirmed that the 2015 Russian Grand Prix will be not be staged at night.
Reports suggested that officials from the Sochi circuit were keen to run the race under floodlights.
However, Sergey Vorobyev confirmed that the grand prix will instead be run one hour earlier than last season's event.
He told reporters: "This year the grand prix will start at 2pm.
"We will have an opportunity to watch the fascinating Formula 1 race one day and one hour earlier than we did last year."
The 2014 race was won by eventual world champion Lewis Hamilton.
