Valtteri Bottas has strongly hinted that his time with Audi-owned Sauber may conclude at the end of this season.

Valtteri Bottas has strongly hinted that his time with Audi-owned Sauber may conclude at the end of this season.

Recently at Imola, the Finnish driver was seen exiting the Williams motorhome, although it appears Williams is more focused on pursuing Carlos Sainz.

"I think any team would be privileged to have him (Sainz) as a part of their organization," team head James Vowles noted in Montreal. "But there's nothing more than that to say at the moment."

Meanwhile, Bottas, who has also been linked to Alpine and Haas, nearly confirmed in Montreal that he's in need of a new team for 2025.

"I feel that they (Sauber-Audi) want quite a lot of changes in the team at the moment, and it's probably the same thing with the drivers," he explained.

"That's how I see the situation, and they're willing to wait a long time, but I can't wait forever. This team is definitely still an option, but I don't think I have time to wait too long."

"I want to speed things up now," the 34-year-old emphasized. "For the past 12 months, I was told that I was part of the Audi project. It's been quieter lately. I have to try to read the situation and do my thing. I'm still working with all the available options, but I have to make my move soon," Bottas added.

Currently, neither Bottas nor his struggling teammate Guanyu Zhou have scored any points in 2024, and Bottas acknowledges the possibility that he may not secure a seat for 2025.

"Nothing is certain in this sport," Bottas is quoted by the Finnish publication MTV. "I'm not worried, but it's sure to be an interesting week or two ahead. Obviously it's a much nicer feeling if you can be certain about what's going on."
