Manchester United have reportedly grown confident that they can agree a deal to sign Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu.
The Red Devils are seemingly keen to recruit a player who can play left wing-back before the transfer window shuts on February 3.
Amorim has tended to use the right-footed pair of Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot on the left of a three in recent times, with Luke Shaw currently sidelined with injury and Tyrell Malacia heading towards a loan exit.
Man United have identified Dorgu as someone who could fit into Amorim's system following recent speculation that they had held positive discussions with Lecce over a potential move.
Lecce president Sticchi Damiani has since warned that he is still keen to retain Dorgu's services, although he did admit the Serie A side would have to be "logical" over a possible departure.

Man United making progress in Dorgu talks
However, according to Sky Sports News, Man United are now growing in belief that they can agree a deal to sign Dorgu before next week's transfer deadline.
Man United and Lecce are believed to be discussing a fee in the region of £30m, with the two clubs currently talking about the structure of the potential transfer.
While positive discussions were held on Monday, Man United are still willing to move on if they are not happy with the proposed deal.
If they are able to reach an agreement with Lecce, the Red Devils are confident they will be able to agree personal terms with Dorgu.

Red Devils consider Carreras an alternative option
Dorgu, who can play on the left or right flank, has seemingly impressed Man United with his performances for Lecce this season.
The Denmark international has started all 21 of his Serie A appearances this term, contributing with three goals and one assist.
While Dorgu is regarded as their priority target, Man United will consider signing their former player, Alvaro Fernandez Carreras, if they are unable to strike a deal for the Lecce man.
Man United have the option to trigger the £15m buyback option for Benfica's Fernandez Carreras, with the clause said to be active until January 2026.
The 21-year-old joined Benfica on a permanent deal from Man United last summer after spending the second half of the 2023-24 campaign with the Portuguese club.
He has been a regular feature in the Benfica side this season, chipping in with three goals and four assists in 31 competitive appearances.
