Jordan Spieth has insisted that he will be 'fully prepared' for next week's Open Championship, despite his hectic schedule in the build-up to the event.
The 21-year-old will take part in the John Deere Classic in Illinois later today, which does not end until Sunday.
Despite not arriving at St Andrews until three days before he tees off, Spieth has dismissed claims that he will head into the Major feeling unprepared.
"When I get over there, whether I play well or don't play well has nothing to do with what I did the week before," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
"I will certainly have enough energy. I will certainly have enough rest, and I will be as prepared as can be by the time I tee it up at St Andrews.
"I'm not worried about any of that. I just want to get myself into contention here so I can find out what tendencies I'm getting into after this [two-week] break."
Spieth is looking to add the third leg of a Grand Slam on the back of wins at the Masters and US Open.
