The USA fight back to tie 8-8 with Europe going into the final day of the Solheim Cup.

The USA enjoyed a spirited fightback to tie the scores at 8-8 going into Sunday's final day's play of the Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle, Ireland.

Europe led 4 1/2 - 3 1/2 after the opening round, and Laura Davies became the highest points scorer in the event's history after her win with Melissa Reid in the fourballs, but it was Europe's only triumph in the session.

Earlier in the day, Europe just edged the foursome contests, with victories for Caroline Hedwall and Sophie Gustafson, and the pairing of Maria Hjorth and Anna Nordqvist.

However, captain Alison Nicholas' decision to rest key players in an attempt to keep them fresh for Sunday's session backfired as the USA drew level.
