Dustin Johnson has admitted that his triumph at the WGC-Cadillac Championship ranks as the best victory of his career.
The 30-year-old came from five shots behind overnight leader JB Holmes to clinch the win at Doral, and he believes the success vindicates his decision to take a six-month break from the sport to focus on improving aspects of his professional and personal life.
"I knew I was really good," Johnson, who returned to the PGA Tour last month, told reporters. "I knew there was something I was missing that could make me great. I was working hard on that, and I think it's showing right now.
"I'm so excited right now, I can't hardly talk. It feels great. This one definitely, by far, is the best one."
Johnson's last victory came at the WGC-HSBC Champions event in November 2013.
