Lee Slattery has earned himself a one-shot lead after day one of the Wales Open at Celtic Manor.
The Englishman shot five birdies on his way to a four-under-par round of 67.
Germany's Marcel Siem joins Dutchman Tim Sluiter on three-under, while Ireland's Simon Thornton is one of four players a shot further back.
Elsewhere, England's Ross Fisher carded a one-under round of 70, but Scotland's Colin Montgomerie could only finish on three-over thanks to two double bogeys on the famous course.
