Sheffield teenager Matthew Fitzpatrick has become the first British player to win the US Amateur Championship in over 100 years.
The 18-year-old, who recently finished tied for 44th in the Open Championship, beat Oliver Goss 4&3 at The Country Club in Brookline, Massachusetts to emulate a feat achieved only once previously by Harold Hilton in 1911.
In July, Fitzpatrick completed four rounds at Muirfield in 10-over-par - a performance good enough to win the Silver Medal.
He is due to study at the Chicago's NorthWestern University - the alma mater of current PGA Tour star Luke Donald - from September.
