William McGirt will take a two-shot lead heading into the fourth and final round of the Northern Trust Open in California.
The 34-year-old American shot 65 to lead on 12 under par at the Riviera Country Club, making eight birdies in the process.
"I played really solid, hit a lot of good iron shots and good putts," BBC Sport quotes him as saying.
"It was just one of those days you could see the line."
Compatriots George McNeill and Charlie Beljan are tied for second place on the leaderboard after playing rounds of 66 and 68 respectively.
Overnight leader Bae Sang-Moon is among many at eight under, while Englishman Lee Westwood is at six under.
