Mickelson: Bradley partnership is "awesome"

Phil Mickelson describes his successful Ryder Cup partnership with Keegan Bradley as "awesome" after they won both matches on day one.

Phil Mickelson has described his successful Ryder Cup partnership with Keegan Bradley as "awesome".

The duo were paired in both the morning foursomes and afternoon fourballs on day one of the biennial competition and they overcame the previously-unbeaten duo of Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia before ousting Europe's flagship pairing of Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy.

When asked by Sky Sports News about how he feels about playing with Ryder Cup rookie Bradley, Mickelson, who is playing in his ninth Ryder Cup, responded: "Awesome. His energy is so good, so positive."

It is now likely that the duo will be paired in tomorrow's two sessions.
