Tiger Woods reveals that he would like to captain the US Ryder Cup team one day.

Tiger Woods has revealed that he would be keen to captain the US Ryder Cup team in the future, but firstly intends to prolong his playing career in the tournament.

The 36-year-old is a veteran of seven Ryder Cups, but failed to win any of his four matches during America's dramatic loss last weekend.

Asked if he would like to lead the US team in the future, the 36-year-old said: "One day that would be fantastic. It would be a huge honour, but hopefully it doesn't happen in the near future.

"I would like to be able to play for a lot more teams but certainly one day when my career is slowing down or it's over, it would be huge to be part of a Ryder Cup from the captaincy side."

Woods has been part of six losing US teams against Europe, with his only victory coming in the famous Brookline event of 1999.
