England's Justin Rose has gone clear at the top of the UBS Hong Kong Open leaderboard thanks to a second round of 66.
Rose, the world number seven and highest-ranked player in the field, made four birdies and one bogey around the Hong Kong Golf Club to reach nine-under for the tournament.
He is one shot clear of Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard, who also posted 66 on day two.
A further shot back is Rose's fellow Englishman Ian Poulter (66), who is playing in the tournament after flying from Orlando at the last minute to ensure that he retains his European Tour membership and is eligible for next year's Ryder Cup.
Overnight leader Lu Wei-Chih is level with Poulter, while in-form English youngster Matt Fitzpatrick is one of five players three behind Rose on six-under after recording his sixth straight round in the 60s on Tour.
Among those to miss the cut were world number eight Dustin Johnson (+1) and three-time winner of the tournament, veteran Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez (+2).
