The USA's Matt Kuchar got the better of Thomas Bjorn during their Ryder Cup singles encounter at Gleneagles this afternoon.
The American won four of the opening nine holes, while Bjorn could only muster one in reply, which meant that Kuchar reached the turn 3 Up.
It was Kuchar's shot on the eighth hole that really captured the imagination of the crowd when he chipped in for an unexpected eagle two.
He also won the 10th and although Bjorn threatened a comeback when he reduced the deficit on the 11th, holes 12, 13 and 14 were halved.
Then, with time running out for the European, he was beaten on the 15th hole as Kuchar sealed a 4&3 victory.
