England's Nile Wilson claims horizontal bars gold

England win gold and silver in the men's horizontal bars courtesy of Nile Wilson and Kristian Thomas's strong performances at the SSE Hydro.

Nile Wilson has won a gold medal for England in the men's horizontal bars final at the Commonwealth Games.

The 18-year-old, who had just hours before won silver in the men's parallel bars, finished narrowly ahead of fellow Team England gymnast Kristian Thomas to top the standings.

Scotland's Frank Baines was on course for bronze at the SSE Hydro, but Kevin Lytwyn of Canada pipped him to the medal with the final routine.

Wilson's success in the parallel discipline ensured that he became the youngest medal recipient on the bars in the history of the Games.
