Team GB gymnast Louis Smith has declared himself "very happy" with his pommel horse silver medal, despite coming agonisingly close to gold.

Smith recorded exactly the same score as Hungary's Krisztian Berki, but Berki was awarded the gold due to a higher execution mark, despite his difficulty being lower.

However, Smith insists that he has no regrets about not making his routine even more difficult, saying that he is delighted with a silver.

"[If I had gone more difficult] I could probably be standing here without a medal with tears down my face," said Smith.

"I've got a silver medal, I've got my third Olympic medal and all those years ago I didn't think I would go to an Olympic Games and get three medals so I'm very happy right now."

Smith's teammate Max Whitlock secured bronze in the same event.
