Scotland hockey coach Gordon Shepherd has said that he is "really proud" of his players, despite their defeat to England earlier today.
The 2-1 loss ensures that the team will not progress to the semi-finals of the women's competition, throwing doubt over their future funding.
He told BBC Sport: "I recognise we started a bit slowly in the game and they dominated the first half, but we were much stronger in the second half of the match. I am really proud of my players, they have been absolutely fantastic."
Scotland beat Wales and Malaysia earlier in the competition, but faced an uphill battle to progress after being thrashed 9-0 by Australia.
