The International Judo Federation have introduced new rules in a bid to tackle any future cases of match fixing.
Investigations will be launched should results be deemed suspicious, and if an athlete is forced to withdraw due to illness then a medical certificate from the IJF Medical Commissioner will need to be presented.
According to insidethegames.biz, an IJF spokesman has claimed that the new rules have not been put in place because of a specific incident, but rather as a warning.
Disciplinary action will be taken against any athlete deemed guilty.
