Gemma Howell third Briton to be knocked out of judo

Gemma Howell loses out to Sweden's Mia Hermansson in the last 16 of the women's -63kg judo category.

Gemma Howell has become the third Briton to be knocked out of the judo this morning after a loss to Sweden's Mia Hermansson in the last 16 of the women's -63kg.

Hermansson received three penalties but hit a waza-ari to grab the win.

Howell received one penalty during the bout.

The 25-year-old follows Owen Livesey and Alice Schlesinger in being knocked out this morning.

The Swede will now face Israel's Yarden Gerbi in the quarter-finals.
