Le Mans legend Tom Kristensen has revealed that he thinks the time is right to end his glittering career in the sport.
Kristensen is the most successful driver in the history of Le Mans having won the title nine times, but despite previously revealing that he wanted a 10th crown, he has abandoned that bid to call time on his career.
The 47-year-old told reporters: "I feel that I have crossed the finish line. I had been told that I would know when the time comes.
"I did not know it until now, but in recent months, the feeling got even stronger, and it has become so strong that I can feel that the time is now."
The Dane won his first Le Mans title in 1997 before he dominated the early 2000s by winning a remarkable six times in succession.
