Valentino Rossi will not be retiring form Moto GP in the wake of Marco Simoncelli's death, his former manager has confirmed.
Rumours had circulated this morning that the 32-year-old was too upset to continue competing after fellow Italian Simoncelli lost his life in Malaysia yesterday.
However, Davide Brivio, who mentored Rossi during his spell with Yamaha, has denied those claims.
"Many are asking about [Rossi] stopping races. This is absolutely not true and I'm sorry even that I have to explain it," Brivio wrote on Twitter.
A number of riders have paid tribute to 24-year-old Simoncelli.
