Ex-Arsenal player Sylvain Wiltord escapes TV show helicopter crash

Former Arsenal player Sylvain Wiltord says that he is "horrified" after his fellow French reality TV contestants die in a helicopter crash.

Former Arsenal player Sylvain Wiltord has expressed his 'horror' after discovering that his fellow reality TV show contestants died in a helicopter crash.

Ten people, including Olympic swimmer Camille Muffat and Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine and two pilots, died when two helicopters collided in Argentina while shooting TV show Dropped.

Reports have claimed that Wiltord, who spent four years playing for the Gunners, was not part of the travelling party as he had been eliminated from the show the day before.

After learning of the accident, Wiltord tweeted: "I am sad for my friends, I tremble, I am horrified, I have no words, I mean nothing #Tristesse #Pleurs #JesuisàParis"

Yachtswoman Florence Arthaud also lost her life in the crash.
