Team England poster placed at Welsh bus stop

A Commonwealth Games sponsor is investigating after its poster in support of Team England was placed at a bus shelter in Wales.

Commonwealth Games sponsors have launched an investigation after a Team England poster was displayed at a bus shelter in North Wales.

The poster features English paralympic athlete Jade Jones, but is just 35 miles from the home of Welsh taekwondo star Jade Jones, who won a gold medal at the London Olympics.

Scottish Southern Electric, who are supporting the four home nations at the Glasgow games, told BBC News: "SSE and its supply brands, including SSE Swalec, are proud supporters of Glasgow 2014 and the four home nations, Team Wales, Team England, Team Scotland and Team Northern Ireland. We are concerned about the placement of this advert and will work with the media owner to investigate."

The poster, which is in Rhos-on-Sea in Conwy, bears the message "proud to support Team England at Glasgow 2014".
