Bookmaker slammed for offering odds on which footballer will come out as gay

An online bookmaker is criticised for offering odds on which England footballer plans to come out as gay.

Online bookmaker Win Cash Live has been criticised after offering odds on which England footballer plans to announce that they are gay.

At the weekend, The Mirror reported that two Premier League footballers, one of whom plays for the Three Lions, will come out as gay in the near future.

Following the news, the bookmaker decided to allow punters to guess who the footballers could be, which has been met by disgust from gay rights organisation Stonewall.

According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for the body said: "Homophobia in sport is a real issue that should be challenged, not cashed in on and trivialised."

There is not a single openly gay professional in England's top flight.
