Gareth Barry visits school as part of Everton's charity initiative

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry gets interrogated by four-year-old schoolchildren during a charity trip.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry took some time out to delve into the work of the club's charity by visiting St Aidan's Primary School in Huyton.

The 34-year-old teamed up with Everton in the Community to deliver a Premier League Primary School Sports Programme, which aims to develop skills such as throwing and catching, with almost 30 pupils.

Barry was also asked questions by the four-year-olds, but they avoided football matters and asked about his favourite character from Disney film Frozen, and what he had for dinner the previous evening.

"I think the lads at the club realise how much hard work is put in by the volunteers and staff at Everton in the Community and to come down and see what they do first hand, it's really impressive," the Liverpool Echo quotes Barry as saying.

"You have to say well done for what they do and I thank them for that hard work and for welcoming me down."

Barry joined Everton last year following a loan spell at Goodison Park.
