Former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise shows off a new 'You'll Never Walk Alone' tattoo, paying tribute to the Merseyside club.

Former Liverpool left-back John Arne Riise has had the club's motto 'You'll Never Walk Alone' tattooed on his left leg.

The Norwegian spent seven years at Anfield before leaving for Roma in 2008, but has kept the Premier League club close to his heart.

During his spell with the Merseyside outfit, the 34-year-old was part of the Reds' Champions League-winning team in 2005 and secured FA Cup glory the following year.

On Instagram, Riise displayed his new ink and wrote: "Proud to show my new tattoo. A tribute to the amazing club and fans of @liverpoolfc I put it on my left leg as well. I'm very happy and hope you all like it and understand how much those 7 years and your support meant to me."

Riise is currently a free agent after leaving APOEL in June.
