New Manchester City signing Raheem Sterling appears to have blocked Liverpool Echo journalist James Pearce from following him on Twitter.
The England international caused controversy among Liverpool fans when he opted to leave Anfield in a £49m move to the Etihad Stadium.
During the transfer saga last season, the 21-year-old admitted that he turned down a £100,000-a-week offer from Liverpool, and the youngster's agent Aidy Ward was quoted criticising the club's conduct.
On Friday, before flying to Finland for the Reds' latest pre-season friendly, Merseyside journalist Pearce revealed that he is no longer permitted to follow Sterling's social media account.
He wrote: "Back in work today and Helsinki bound. Looks like Adie Ward has been busy doing some admin......"
