Manchester City are reportedly considering legal action after striker Sergio Aguero was allegedly spat at by a Wigan Athletic supporter.

Manchester City are reportedly considering legal action after striker Sergio Aguero was allegedly spat at by a Wigan Athletic supporter.

Argentine international Aguero is also said to have been verbally abused during the incident, which took place after a Latics fan invaded the pitch following Monday night's FA Cup tie.

According to Sky Sports News, City chiefs, who met with the forward on Tuesday to discuss the alleged events, have not ruled out contacting the police over a potential case of common assault.

The news outlet also says that City are angered by the proficiency of stewarding during the match that resulted in fans being able to enter the field of play.

The club have also been sent videos which purport to show Wigan fans deliberately goading City supporters after the full-time whistle.
