Paddy Power selects fake sponsors for Premier League clubs

Paddy Power selects fake new sponsors for Premier League clubs ahead of the start of the new season this weekend.

Bookmaker Paddy Power has selected alternative sponsors for Premier League clubs ahead of the new season.

The Dublin-based company jokingly suggested that reigning champions Chelsea should be backed by Facebook as they are "massive" but "only formed in 2004" following Roman Abramovich's takeover.

According to the Daily Star, the bookmaker stated that Manchester City should be sponsored by Mr Kipling so that Yaya Toure "always has his cake", in reference to last year when the midfielder reportedly criticised the club for not celebrating his 31st birthday.

In addition, Liverpool were backed to do a deal with electronics company Amstrad as "both used to be big in the 1980s", while Manchester United have been encouraged to have Apple on their shirts because the club were "market leaders for a long time, but they've been a bit dodgy since their best known leader departed".

The 2015-16 season will get underway on Saturday.
