A beer advert starring former Manchester United player Eric Cantona has been banned by advertising bosses.
The decision has been made to pull the commercial from screens as the French lager is made in Manchester, but the ad fails to credit its British brewers.
During the advert, Cantona jokes that French farmers are treated like high-profile footballers because they make Kronenbourg 1664.
However, the Advertising Standards Authority has stated that the advert misleads consumers into thinking that the beverage is a French product, according to the Daily Star.
The small print of 'brewed in the UK' was not deemed enough of a credit by the ASA.
