Sky Sports decides against Premier League fixture on Christmas Eve

Sky Sports announces that no Premier League fixture will be moved to take place on Christmas Eve, with the game between Arsenal and Liverpool being held on December 22.

Sky Sports has confirmed reports that no Premier League fixtures will take place on Christmas Eve.

In recent weeks, it had been suggested that the game between Arsenal and Liverpool or the showdown between Leicester City and Manchester United could be switched to a 4pm kickoff on Christmas Eve.

However, the broadcaster has instead rescheduled the clash at the Emirates Stadium for 7.45pm on Friday, December 22, with United's trip to the King Power Stadium being staged on Saturday, December 23 with a 7.45pm start time.

The fixture involving Everton and Chelsea will also be held on December 23, before the action resumes on Boxing Day, with Tottenham Hotspur's home game with Southampton and Swansea City's trip to Liverpool both being televised.

On December 27, Newcastle United will play Manchester City with a start time of 7.45pm, before Crystal Palace host Arsenal 24 hours later.
