Edwin van der Sar takes back birthday wish to Newcastle United's Tim Krul

Edwin van der Sar takes back his birthday wish of a clean sheet for Tim Krul when he realises that Newcastle United are facing Manchester United this weekend.

Ex-Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar took back his birthday wish to Newcastle United's Tim Krul once he realised that the Magpies were facing his former club this weekend.

The 43-year-old wished his fellow Dutchman a 'Happy Birthday' on Twitter this week as the Newcastle shot-stopper celebrated turning 26 years old.

Van der Sar hoped that Krul would keep a clean sheet in his next game, but took his wish back when he discovered that the Magpies will be hosting the Red Devils at St James' Park on Saturday.

Newcastle currently sit ninth in the Premier League table, while United reside eight points ahead in seventh.
