Newcastle United mingled with members from British boyband One Direction during one of their training sessions this week.

Four of the band's singers - Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - headed to the Magpies' training centre in Benton without fellow member Zayn Malik.

The former X Factor singers donned Newcastle kits for a match against manager Alan Pardew and coaching staff Andy Woodman, Steve Stone, John Carver and Peter Beardsley.

Horan managed to score a penalty, but the singers succumbed to defeat in the one-off match.
