Two-time Grand Slam star Andy Murray has claimed that he is relieved to have a distraction from tennis as he prepares to become a father.
The 28-year-old, who is currently competing at the ATP World Tour Finals in London, married his long-term partner Kim Sears in April.
Kim, who began dating the tennis player in 2005, is believed to be around six months pregnant.
In his column for BBC Sport, Murray said: "My wife Kim is expecting our first child and it's really nice that when I get home I'm not stressing about tennis, but interested in helping her as much as I can.
"She has always been great about supporting me throughout my career but the next couple of weeks are going to be stressful, with a lot of big matches.
"That means getting to spend time together now is especially nice, because Kim's quite far along and we have something more important to talk about and distract us, or distract me, from the tennis."
Murray will represent Great Britain in the Davis Cup final next week.
