Former Premier League footballer Clarke Carlisle has reportedly begun attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in order to save his marriage to wife Gemma.
The 35-year-old revealed earlier this month that he has separated from his wife as he continues to battle depression and drinking problems.
According to the Daily Star, Carlisle, who has moved out of the marital home, has begun attending AA meetings and is now having sessions with a psychiatrist.
In December, Carlisle attempted suicide by jumping in front of a lorry on the A64 in Yorkshire, and spent six weeks in hospital.
