Police have confirmed that the mistress of former NFL player Buster Barnett killed the sportsman's wife before killing herself.
Sandra Barnett, 49, was kidnapped by Lisa Brown, who had been having an affair with Buster for several years, on Wednesday afternoon, Clayton County police have confirmed.
Captain Richard Gandee revealed that Mrs Barnett was on the phone to a friend when Ms Brown approached her home in Ellenwood, Georgia.
Police were informed of the kidnapping and chased a Dodge Durango vehicle on Interstate 20 into Alabama until the car stopped and Ms Brown shot Barnett's wife and then turned the gun on herself, according to USA Today.
The authorities confirmed that Ms Brown was on probation for kidnapping her child whom she lost custody of.
Barnett played for the Buffalo Bills from 1981 to 1984.
