Joey Barton has reportedly rejected a £500,000 offer - the largest in the show's history - to enter this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.
YouTube star Jack Maynard left the Australian outback, and according to The Sun, ITV was considering sending Barton in as a replacement.
Former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Barton, who reportedly demanded £1m to enter the jungle, is currently serving an 18-month-ban from football for breaching gambling rules.
The report comes as there are apparent fears that boxer Amir Khan will pull out of the show, but it is unclear if Barton will be pursued further after his alleged snub, should Khan leave.
Barton has played in the Premier League for Manchester City, QPR and Newcastle United, while also appearing in Scotland for Rangers and in France for Marseille.
