Gary Lineker has accused new BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey of 'offending' a number of TV pundits and former footballers.
The frontman of the broadcaster initially wrote a blog post speaking of his excitement ahead of his new venture, claiming: "I believe the audience need incisive analysis delivered by current or recently retired players who can empathise with current stars of the sport. [BT Sport] agree."
Following his words, Lineker, who is the current anchor for the BBC's Match of the Day wrote to Humphrey on Twitter saying: "Be careful Jakey in the choice of your words."
Humphrey replied: "I'm sorry Gary, you seem to have found offence where none was intended. J".
Lineker responded: "Apology accepted on behalf of those you know you would have offended. People with a lifetime's experience in the game and TV."
BT Sport announced this week that they will broadcast 38 live Premier League games for free for all BT broadband customers.
