Restaurant Scorch-O-rama in Wellington, New Zealand has apologised after printing a 'joke' about the killing of Oscar Pistorius's girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The Paralympic champion was found guilty of culpable homicide after shooting Steenkamp dead through a bathroom door at his home in Pretoria on February 14 last year.
Pistorius, who claimed that he mistook the South African model for an intruder when he fired the shots, was cleared of murder.
One user slammed the restaurant on social media after she received a receipt with the joke, 'Oscar Pistorius was super keen to get a new bathroom door, but his girlfriend was dead against it,' printed on the bottom of the slip.
"We truly are sorry and removed it as soon as we had that vital moment of awareness," the Daily Star quotes the cafe's owner Keith Morrison as saying. "We apologise again for any hurt or distress we caused people – it was absolutely never our intention."
Mr Morrison is also believed to have donated almost £500 to the Women's Refuge.
Pistorius could face 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on October 13.
