Real Madrid and Microsoft have announced a four-year partnership that is being called a 'digital revolution' for the Spanish football club.

The multi-faceted deal, which is understood to be worth nearly £20m, includes the creation of a digital platform that will give fans "more personal and direct interaction with players and the club".

Full details of the agreement are due to be rolled out in the coming months.

"These advances will serve to make Real Madrid the football club that delivers a comprehensive and streamlined online experience to its supporters, leading the way in the digital transformation of the sports industry," read an official statement from Microsoft.

"Through cutting-edge technologies, supporters of Real Madrid will be able to access experiences, content and exclusive digital services, either at the stadium, at home or in any other location."

Real Madrid are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Eibar in La Liga.
