Ronaldo set to buy Real Valladolid?

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo is reportedly set to complete the purchase of La Liga club Real Valladolid.

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo is reportedly set to complete the purchase of La Liga club Real Valladolid.

Valladolid are in debt of around €25m (£19.3m), leaving club president Carlos Suarez tempted to sell the Spanish club to Ronaldo.

Ronaldo used to own a stake in American side Fort Lauderdale Strikers before the club folded in 2016, and Cadena Ser reports that the ex-Real Madrid forward is now closing in on the ownership of Valladolid.

The report adds that Ronaldo will take over as president from Suarez, but the latter will serve as an executive president in charge of the day-to-day running of the club.

The deal is expected to be signed within the next three weeks, but Ronaldo faces competition from other parties who are also willing to pay Suarez's asking price.
