Football fan 'beaten to death in Sao Paulo after Brazilian match'

A football fan is reportedly beaten to death in Sao Paulo following a Brazilian league match.

A football supporter was reportedly beaten to death following a Brazilian league match between Santos and Sao Paulo.

The 34-year-old male, who has been identified by local media as Marcio Barreto de Toledo, is said to have been attacked by more than a dozen fans in Sao Paulo.

According to the Daily Star, the man was waiting at a bus stop with two other Santos fans after the match when he was attacked by supporters carrying metal bars.

The Arena Corinthians in the city will host the opening game of this summer's World Cup when Brazil face Croatia on June 12.
