Sunderland defender Wes Brown was reportedly ejected from a nightclub in Yarm with two of his teammates.
The former Manchester United player was caught on video outside The Keys appearing to confront someone on the pavement.
According to The Mirror, a fellow clubber snapped a photo of one of the doormen leading Brown out of the building with his arm around the footballer's neck.
After being taken out of the club, Brown could reportedly be heard saying, "I slapped who?" before leaving the area in a taxi with his teammates.
Cleveland Police were called, but a spokesperson confirmed that the incident was dealt with by the nightclub's staff.
