The winner of the 2012 St Leger, Encke, has been confirmed as one of the seven horses that tested positive for anabolic steroids at the yard of Mahmood Al Zarooni.
The Godolphin trainer was handed an eight-year suspension from the sport last month after his deceit had emerged.
As a result, his entire Newmarket stable was tested for banned substances and it has been revealed that Encke, who won last year's major race at Doncaster as 25-1, was among the horses to have provided a positive sample.
One-time Derby entry Steeler also failed the test.
